United Club in Nelson, were injured last Saturday in a motor accident. One suffered a broken leg and the other a broken collarbone. “It is unusual to have so many players pull out,” Mr Fox said. “We have either to close a green pr half a green, or to find replacements, and we would prefer to find replacements.” There are 960 entries for the singles and section play begins on Friday. The final will be played on January 5. Altogether 2150 bowlers will take part in the championships.
