The Pacific Reefer berthed al ! Lyttelton, after visiting Auckland. at 7.10 a m. on September 27. She began discharging her .cargo of bananas at 8 a.m.. and: ■by 4 p.m. ail the cartons hadJ i been discharged. | This represented a commendable discharge rate of 3832 carbons per hour. The vessel sailed.■for Fremantle only 2u minutes j after completing discharge. • 1 Increases in domestic road I haulage and rail freight rates will! soon be reflected in New Zea-| land-Japan container service tariffs. Tariffs will soon include the: 2.7 per cent increase in town] and country road haulage rates] approved by the Ministry of (Transport, which took effect; I from September 17. | The tariff increases, beginning, |in mid-October, will also incorporate the 12.5 per cent rise in rail freight rates recently announced by the Railways Department. which will come into effect at midnight on October 7.
