France causes E.E.C. uproar
NZPA-Reuter Kilkenny The French Agriculture Minister (Mr Pierre Mehaignerie) has refused to lift restrictions on imports of British sheep and lamb, in spite of a European Court ruling that the ban is illegal. Mr Mehaignerie said in Kilkenny that he would not raise the restrictions until there was a European Economic Community (E.E.C.) sheepmeat regime to protect his farmers — and that cbuld take months.
