The Royal New Zealand Air Force's Central Flying [School at Wigram Airbase has a new commanding officer, Squadron Leader F. S. Sharp. Squadron Leader Sharp, of Gisborne, was one of the first instructors to teach Royal Air Force pilots to fly the R.A.F.’s new jet trainer, the Hawk. He has just returned from a ex-1
change tour with the R.A.F. A science graduate from the University of Canterbury, Squadron Leader Sharp joined the R.N.Z.A.F. in 1967. He has served in No. 14 and No. 75 Squadrons flying Vampires, Strikemasters and Skyhawks. Before leaving for Britain in 1977, he was an instructor at the Pilot Training Squad'ron at Wigram.
