Wilding Park activities
Activities at Wilding Park I will provide the focal point for the Christchurch observance of National Tennis Day ion Saturday. I This Radio New Zealand promotion is aimed at whipping up enthusiasm for the I game on a broad front, as well as raising money for charity. The Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association will show the way with an open day at Wilding Park. Six coaches, Terry and Michael Mooney, Trevor Withers, Sam Clarke, Martin Searle and Tony Huston, will conduct classes for beginners; for juniors in the morning and adults in the afternoon. Other courts will be available for impromptu matches and visitors will be paired off for doubles matches — after they have paid their $1 a head to the charity. “Celebrity” matches are also planned for Wilding Park. Club courts will be available for similar activities.
