Special correspondent 1 Hastings ; The open class gallopers, Kanga’s Lad and Out Of The Blue, left no doubts as to their present fitness with a brilliant gallop at the Hastings track yesterday morn-; ing. Galloping was carried out! on the plough (fast) and No. I 1 grass (easy). Kanga’s Lad and Out Of! The Blue were sent 1000m| on the plough. They kept together throughout and clocked an exceptional time* jof 60.85, the last 800 m in; 148.2 s and final 600 m inj ' 36.35. Both horses were working strongly at the finish. turday’s Masterton meeting and both should perform well. Diana, another entered fol Masterton, also showed plenty of speed when run ing a solo 600 m in 35.25. The promising two-year old. Diana Prince left 600 m behind in 38s. She was I good third behind Summei Haze and Silver Valley al Otaki on Saturday. I Stabiemates, Alice ant i Warsash, showed speed it running 600 m in 36.15.
