Whaling Commission for a catch quota of 1500 sperm whales for the 1979-80 season only, to help the Soviet industry to readjust. The application will be pul to the commission’s 23 members soon in the first postal ballot to be held by the organisation. New Zealand supported the ban at the commission'! last meeting.
