Soccer youth Canterbury continues run of success
Canterbury continued its I remarkable run of success at [ junior soccer level by winning the Allan Fraser trophy! for under-15 players in Christchurch recently. ' This was the final representative tournament of the! season and rounded off a: fine year for junior Canterbury teams. Canterbury beat Marlborough, 6-0, beat Nelson. 3-0.! and beat a Canterbury select! XI, 4-0. Outstanding players; for the Canterbury team
were Timothy Pearson, Allan Munro and Chris Smith while Glen Senior, Graeme 'McNicholl and Simon Myers !stood out for the select XI. This team, which included six under-14 players, beat Marlborough, 4-0, and narrowly lost to Nelson, 3-2. One of Canterbury’s most promising young players, Danny Halligan, scored three times to bring his total number of goals for Canterbury in representative play to 102.
