Devaluation steady
PA Wellington The New Zealand dollar was devalued last month by 0.4 per cent of its value at the end of June, when the new system of regular but small currency adjustments took effect. September was the third i successive month that the dollar was devalued by this - amount. i- The level of the Reserve d Bank exchange rate index stood at 98.8 at the end of d September. it The index, which measures e the value of rhe New Zea•iland dollar in terms of a base ket of currencies of New Zea- ‘ land's main trading partners, g had a base of 100.0 at the end e of June, 1979. and stood at .99.2 at the end of August.
