Orange People
Sir, — In regard to the article headed, “Drug hauls linked with mystic cult” (“The Press,” September 29), the ashram is in Poona, near Bombay, and Bhagwan is an enlightened master; his
disciples are called sannyasins and come to Bhagwan from throughout the world. A master cannot be judged by his disciples just as the actions of one disciple cannot speak for the actions of other disciples. It is not a sect or mystic cult and is not, as you say, heavily involved in drugs, sex, violence and alcohol and any research into the ashram would have revealed this. — Yours, etc.,
MA DEVA ADORA. September 30, 1979.
