Women in Chch top radio listeners
Christchurch women spend more time listening to the radio than do women in other centres, according to a recent survey.
More than 1000 women were interviewed. The survey showed that Christchurch women listen to the radio an average of 26 hours a week. Hamilton women have the lowest average at 17 hours a week. The national average is 22 hours. Nationally, women with children aged under five are the most devoted listeners, averaging 25 hours a week.
The women interviewed in the survey watch television 18 hours a week. Almost a third watch between 15 and 21 hours a week. Women in Hawke’s Bay have the highest average viewing time at 22 hours, and Hamilton women the lowest at 16.
