Moroccan, appeal
The Algerian-backed Polisario Front fielded a force of more than 5000 men and 1000 vehicles when it stormed the desert garrison of Lebuirate in southern Morocco last Friday, the semiofficial Moroccan newspaper, “Maroc Soir,” has said. The figures are the first to be issued on the battle in which the Polisario routed the garrison and were only dislodged more than 24 ■ hours later by a relief coll umn. The evning newspaper iin an editorial by its chair- ■ man, the former Minister of i Information, Ahmed Alaoui, i appealed to the West to supply Morocco with urgently i needed arms. —r Rabat.
