Spindrift works well
Special corres. Hastings A fast 600 m sprint by Spindrift highlighted Tuesday morning's Hastings track session. Fast work was carried out on the plough and No. 1 grass. Both provided heavy footing. Spindrift, preparing for Saturday’s Wanganui meeting, sprinted keenly over 600 m on the plough in 375. She failed to show up at Foxton last Saturday, but rider Brent Smith commented that she hung badly in the heavy conditions. A better track at Wanganui should see an improvement in her form. Tarbela, another preparing for Wanganui, went quietly over 600 m on the No. 1 grass in 40.35. He went a great race for fourth last Saturday and could improve further this week.
