Mr P. A. Oliver, who has been appointed First Secretary (commercial) and Trade Commissioner at the New Zealand embassy in Lima, Peru. Mr Oliver joined the Department of Trade and Industry in 1969. After working in the Tariff Surveys Unit and the Industries and Trade Services Division, he was named Assistant Trade Commissioner at Rome in 1972. He returned to Wellington in 1976 and has been working in the department’s Trade Policy and Commerce divisions. Mr Oliver will take up his appointment in Lima in November, succeeding Mr G. J. Webb.
