Hadlee fells batsman
NZPA-Reuter Nottingham The Indian cricket allrounder, Mohinder Amarnath, suffered a hairline fracture of the skull, when he was felled by the New Zealand fast bowler Richard Hadlee, in India’s match against Nottinghamshire. Amarnath collapsed on his stumps and was carried from the field unconscious.
He came round in an ambulance on the way to hospital where he was to be detained for at least 48 hours. Amarnath, who missed the second test with a back injury, is now almost certain to be unavailable for the fourth test, starting tomorrow when India will be attempting to pull back England’s 1-0 lead in the series.
