Counties win again
Counties maintained its unbeaten record in the national rugby championship with a 13-10 win over Taranaki at New Plymouth on Saturady. However, Taranaki was desperately unlucky. It dominated territory in the second spell after the half-time scores were level at 10-aII but failed to score, while
Counties, through a penalty goal by Mark Codlin, gained the winning points on one of the few occasions it entered the Taranaki half. Scorers: Counties, Mark Codlin, Brian Morris tries; Codlin a conversion and a penalty. Taranaki: Mark Thomson a try, Stephen Davidson two penalties.
