U.S. soldiers held
NZPA-Reuter Oppenheim Twenty-four American soldiers were under arrest after the German police and the United States military police smashed a heroin smuggling ring, police in Oppenheim said yesterday. Three German women and a Turkish man and woman had also been detained, they
said. The main suspect was a 25-year-old German woman. The arrests highlight the growing heroin problem in United States Army units, and in West German society generally The Bonn Government said last week that 328 people had died this year through heroin addiction.
