Rape counts denied
PA Auckland A young man denied five charges of rape when he appeared in the Supreme Court at Auckland yesterday. As ■ well, Brian Francis Thomas Mana Jordan, aged 21, a service station attendant, pleaded not guilty to a charge of indecent assault, seven counts Of burglary, and seven charges of unlawfully entering premises. The offences allegedly oc-
curred between February. 1977, and March 1979. Mr Justice Moller suppressed the names and addresses of all witnesses, except for police officers, scientists and doctors. He was dealing with a preliminary point in the absence of the jury yesterday, before the opening of the Crown case. The jury, seven women and five men, is expected to begin hearing evidence today.
