arrival in the Netherlands. She was run down after an exhausting non-stop trip and there was a delay in receiving her racing papers. Jody Majestic did not show her true ability at first; apparently she was unfamiliar with the drag hare used on the track where she first appeared. But once racing in Amsterdam and on a track with a mechanical lure, the 22 months old bitch has quickly established herself as one of the best chasers in the country. She is the second greyhound to be raced by Mr [van Orsouw. who was fortunate to have a top dog 'from the start. His first (greyhound, Alta Majestic, (won last year’s Dutch cham- ■ pionship over 475 m and was fourth in the 350 m championship. John van Orsouw has also been fortunate to have a | class dog in his Christchurch kennels. Alta Smooth i (Buffeteer-Tip Top), a half 'brother to Jody Majestic, 'won the 1978 Lord Shannon ' Cup and was the youngest tinner in last year’s New championship. He has suffered a series lof setbacks through injuries and has not always shown ; his best this year, but van Orsouw hopes that he will ,be ready to race again at | the totalisator meetings later this season.
