Sun Seeker graduated to New Zealand Gup class when he held off his stablemate, Lord Module, by half a length in the National Handicap at Addington Raceway last evening. The race was run in fog, with the field in view only inside the last 200 m, and again until about 200 m past the winning post.
Sun Seeker, driven by | Kevin Williams, son-in-law of i the six-year-old’s owner I trainer, Cecil Devine, was given the run of the race behind Bad Luck. He was pulled | out early in the run home, i quickly mastered the pa-! cemaker, and came on to! win handily. ‘
■i Lord Module made another ’! splendid beginning and settled on the outside five ■ places back. i Roydon Scott, the favour- ! ite, was late working clear ifrom an awkward position on the rails. He finished fasijter than anything, but third, * a short length from Lord
: Module, was the best he I could manage. Bad Luck battled on for a ! fair fourth, shading Rocky Tryax, which was three back ■on the inner throughout. •on the inner throughout, i Majestic Charger came on - steadily for sixth with West- , burn Vue next and a short i break to Palestine.
Wing Commander had to pull all stops to take a head advantage over Philippa Frost in the Hillmorton Handicap. They had the finish to themselves, being four lengths in front of The Wild Dream, Nandina Maestro and Harley.
