Rugby Three teams did well on the first day of the South Island inter-provincial under-18 rugby tournament at Ashburton yesterday. Otago, Canterbury, and Southland all scored big wins and with Marlborough are the only unbeaten teams after the first day. A heavy Canterbury forward pack dominated Mid-Canterbury, and Canterbury could be the side to beat. Buller and West Coast were outclassed by Otago and Southland.
