and Company has withdrawn an application to the Taurang.. City Council for a water-gel explosives factory and storage magazine on a 160 ha property on Thompsons Track.
A petition opposing the company’s application was signed by about 70 people and more than 50 families said they would oppose the application at a council hearing. ' One of the'residents, Mrs K. L. Brown, said five solicitors were to have represented the objectors. “It would have been one of the biggest hearings the council had ever had,” she said.
