Rugby injuries examined

The former Canterbury and All Black No. 8 forward,. Dr Hugh Burry, will be the principal Speaker at a seminar on rugby injuries to be held in Christchurch tomorrow morning.

tai, Dr Burry will speak on the subject, “rugby injuries — preventable or not,” at the Old Boys rugby club rooms in Ayr Street. Other speakers at the seminar will be Mr Humphrey Garland, a urologist and rugby medical . advisory chairman, of Wellington, and the Christchurch club’s senior captain, Jerry Rowberry, who is a physical education teacher.

Mr Garland’s topic will be cervical spinal injuries in rugby players, and Rowberry will present the players’ viewpoint on injuries.
