Collin directors sent to jail

NZPA Sydney Two former directors of the Gollin group of companies, Keith Gale, and Richard Glenister, have been sent to jail for defrauding the company of money, and conspiracy to cheat and defraud. In passing a sentence of 13 years on Gale, Mr Justice Slattery said Gale had misled himself by his arrogance and power within the Gollin group. Gale, the former managing director of Gollin and Glenister, a former executive director in charge of finance who was sentenced to 12 years in jail, were last month found guilty by a jury in the Sydney Central Criminal Court of charges of fraud and conspiracy involving hundreds of thousands of dollars of company funds. They both pleaded not guilty. The Crown alleged that Gale and Glenister had taken company money to buy shares in the company, buy or renovating houses, reduce their personal bank overdrafts, or advance money to relatives.
