Rabbit control

Sir, —- Rabbit control should be placed whete it belongs —• on the farmer or whoever is farming that

property. The cost would be very little compared with the cost of rabbit boards who are playing with rabbit farming, as they would be out of a job if they killed the last rabbit. I have just returned from a tour of Canada and America and I witnessed a sale of New Zealand rabbitskin coats for women. Two jet black as they were called made $NZ2965 and SNZ3I39. Five wild grey made an average of 5NZ121.17. Rabbit fur coats could be a good export potential and rabbit meat could be used in New Zealand. I was informed that the coats were consigned to the Winnipeg market from Christchurch. Congratulations to who ever has had the courage to use this common material for an export use. — Yours, etc.,

P. J. WRAY. August 8, 1979.
