Emergency permits
PA Wellington Emergency petrol permits issued to motorists during the week-ends appear to be settling at just below 1500 a month. Statistics from the police show that 1476 emergency permits were granted during June, compared with 1463 in May, 1747 in April, and 1662 in March. The main centre figures for July were.— Auckland, 348 (442 May); Wellington, 170 (193); Christchurch, 59 (54); and Dunedin, 51 (40).
