Disqualifications imposed
i pa Wellington Disqualifications of between one year and 10 years were imposed in Wellington by a sub-committee of the executive committee of the New Zealand Racing Conference following inquiries into ownership irregularities of the horses, Dandaleith and Ginger Ale. Graham Porter, of Napier, was disqualified for 10 years and ordered to pay $l5OO towards the cost of the inquiry. The trainer, Alan Pringle, of Hastings, was disqualified for six years and ordered to pay $lOOO, and Graham Pederson was disqualified for three years and ordered to pay $5OO. One-year disqualifications were imposed on Peter Pringle, a station manager in the Wairarapa, and his wife, Dorothy, and Margaret Pringle, wife of Alan Pringle.
The sub-committee also ordered Porter, Pederson and Alan P. Pringle to refund to the secretary of the conference the sum of $32,815 in stakes won by Dandaleith and trophies to the value of $165. G. Porter, A. P. Pringle and Mrs Margaret Pringle were ordered to repay $2454, the stakes won by Ginger Ale. The charges relating to the two horses were laid by a racecourse inspector, J. W. McKenzie, Porter was charged with first wilfully failing to register the financial arrangement in relation to Dandaleith, and similar ; charges were laid against him in relation to Ginger Ale.
Alan Pringle, in relation to Dandaleith, was charged with wilfully supplying false information to the conference in or about January 1977 and with having an interest in a horse while he was licensed as a jockey. He was also charged with aiding and abetting his wife to supply false information to the conference concerning Ginger Ale. Pederson w r as charged in relation to Dandaleith and P. W. Pringle faced two charges of supplying false information to the conference in relation to Dandaleith. Neither was charged in respect of Ginger Ale. In relation to Dandaleith, Dorothy Pringle faced two charges but was not charged i in respect of Ginger Ale. ' Margaret Pringle faced one charge of supplying i false information in respect ■of Ginger Ale. AH charges were admitted iby all defendants. Mr T. F. Fookes appeared (for Mr McKenzie. Mr E. W. iGartrell, of Dannevirke, appeared for Mr and Mrs A. P.
Pringle and also for Mr and Mrs P. W. Pringle. Porter was represented by Mr T. A. de Cleene. Pederson was present, but not represented by counsel.
The commitee extendi until September 30, 1979, t| period in which hors owned by any of the part, disqualified may be dispos of.
