Lynette Davies returns in ‘The Foundation’
Lynette Davies returns ■to TVI tonight in a new series of “The Foundation” — the start of a new phase in the story of Davinia Prince. Tall, fair haired and undeniably beautiful, lynette Davies is Welsh, born in Tonypandy and brought up in Cardiff from the age of five. Her ambition was to become a ballet dancer but when she went to London for training her performances in the drama section were so impressive that she was encouraged to take up acting. Lynette therefore went on to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arfr.'at the age of 18. Her first juvenile lead was in ~“Qh. Clarence” (as a rather horsey young woman and her
first television appearance was in the leading guest role of a segment in the “Brett” series, playing a Welsh tart. After this came education work on the theatrical side at Guildford which gave her the opportunity to appear in such classics as “The Taming of the Shrew” and “King Lear.”
The big stage break came when she went to the Royal Shakespeare Company where she remained for three years. By the time she received the offer to star in “The Foundation,” Lynette had been seen in only one television production, “The Ghost of Motley Hall,” and Had completed the part of Elizabeth Vernon in an episode of the “Will Shakespeare” series.
