VIEWERS’ VIEWS

JESSIE MATTHEWS Sir, —- I really do enjoy John Collins’s reviews and I do agree with all he.says about the series, “Edward and Mrs Simpson.” But I should like to make my complaint heard. How could anyone cast our own Jessie Matthews as Aunt Bessie? The whole seven weeks viewing to me was spoilt as Aunt Bessie bounced into the room. All I could see was this slight elf-like browneyed girl tap-dancing as she had done so long ago, and she a Londoner, too. How could she? But perhaps she needed the money. Yours, etc., ALICE BUTLER
