Nursing survey
A survey of the duties of nurses employed by the North Canterbury Hospital Board will be made later this year. The acting principal nurse I for the board (Miss Margaret Darby) told the board’s institutions committee yesterday that there was an extra demand for enrolled j nurses. i There was a need to look carefully at the other cate-
: gories of staff who might be i able to take over some of I the duties of nursing staff. The board will make a survey of nursing duties ; later in the year, taking into ■ account the influences of the i nursing training scheme run : by the Christchurch Techni--1 cal Institute, and the corresponding drop in the number : of hospital-based nursing • students.
