League tour starts
PA Whangarei Experience, strength in the forwards and the presence of the former Kiwi, Dennis Williams, should help the New Zealand Maoris in their game against the Great Britain rugby league side in the opening match of its New Zealand tour at Whangarei today.
The Great Britain side, after two months touring Australia, arrived in Auckland on Sunday.
It will play ten games, including three tests, during its New Zealand tour. The Maoris team is: Nick Wright, Toa Fepuleai, Riana Wharekura, Ray Harris (vice captain), Dennis Williams, John Heremaia, Dennis Key, Pat Poasa, Murray Netzler (captain), Ricky Muru, lan Bell, Warren Rangi, Kevin Jenkinson.
Reserves: Jack Knuckey, Rangi Tianaga, Brendon Power, Victor Bracken.
