Town Hall organ

Sir, — I wholeheartedly endorse and support the feelings expressed by most of your correspondents regarding “not wanting a pipe organ in the Town Hall.” Having been a resident of Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane over a period of many years I can assure them that their feelings on this matter are correct. The organs in the town halls of these cities are very seldom used, which to my mind is not only a waste of a beautiful instrument, but an unnecessary and wasteful expense to maintain in idleness. Therefore, my best advice to the powers that be is to check up on all the town halls throughout Australia

and New Zealand and they will find that the above advice will be confirmed. — Yours, etc., LESLIE W, FARNILL. t July 14, 1979.
