Christchurch Central seat

Sir, — I disagree with A. V. Kennedy (July 9). Someone should be chosen to represent the Christchurch Central electorate not only for Christchurch but for New Zealand too. We need a farmer’s voice in the Labour Opposition, for Bruce Barclay will be sorely missed by this nation. I hope the people on the selection committee realise this and vote for the best potential, whether from North or South Island. The candidate will soon get to know the people of the electorate because they will make sure of that. A good, strong solid farmer’s voice is needed. — Yours, etc., J. BRADLEY. July 9, 1979.
