Boys’ High too powerful
Christchurch Boys’ High School’s powerful forward pack dominated proceedings in its annual first XV rugby match against Christ’s College, enabling it to win 17-3. Although School’s forwards worked well, the star of the day was Nigel Skellerup, a speedy and elusive wing who scored three tries. Christ’s College, although
constantly under pressure, never relented and the sterling efforts of its smaller forwards were especially creditable. Christchurch B.H.S. 17 (N. Skellerup three tries; J. Earl a conversion and a penalty goal) beat Christ’s College 3 (A. Murchison a penalty goal).
