PA Nelson The Nelson police have still not discovered the full name of a young man killed during a bach fire near Motueka on Saturday. The dead man, believed to be in his late teens or early 20s, died when fire destroyed the bach at Pokororo early on Saturday morning. He is thought to have come from Ruatoria. However, attempts by the police to establish his identity were unsuccessful. Inquiries have been centred on the North Island’s east coast. The man, a Maori, was known as Nuku or Nuki.
