Cycling title to Papanui
PA Levin I The Papanui club, from Christchurch. won the national Hope Gibbons team time-trial cycling final at Levin on Saturday. The 40 kilometre course from Levin to Foxton and back was cold, wet and miserable. Papanui’s 53min 58sec - time was only 13sec outside the race record, set last year by Pt Chevalier, from Auckland. * The second place went, to Mornnsville captained • by Jack Swart, in 54min 34sec. Third was Palmerston North, though it finished with only four riders, including the team captain, Anthony Cuff, in 55min .08sec.
