N.Z. basketball victory
Even without its captain, Stan Hill, for nearly all the second half, the New Zealand men’s basketball team played coolly and confidently to beat the Small College All Americans, 76-68, at Auckland Y.M.C.A. yesterday. Hill incurred four fouls before the end of the first half, and his coach, Mr Steve McKean, only called him back into the play four minutes before the end.
New Zealand led. 43-39, at the interval. The visitors scored the first points on the resumption, but two final goals by John Rademakers, the New Zealand guard, and one by John Hill.
