Clean-sweep to Central
Central Districts completed its clean-sweep of the New Zealand inter-district rugby league championship when it beat Northern Districts, 32-7, at Wellington on Saturday. The runner-up position went to South Island as a result of its 11-10 defeat cf Auckland at Carlaw Park (report, page 20). As expected, Central was
too strong in the forwards for its Northern counterpart, and it had the game in safekeeping when it led by 16-7 at half-time.
