Avonside leads table tennis
Avonslde I maintained its four-i point lead at the top of the A grade winter table tennis com-' petition when it comfortably beat Linwood 11, 8-4, on Wednesday evening. Only three games were played — Avonside Il’s match with Selwyn — Dallington being postponed. It was a weaker Avonslde I team which played Linwood H. Wayne Anderson and Les Stewart were missing from the lineup, but Jan Morris and Trevor Flint proved to be more than adequate replacements. Stephen Dixon Impressed for the vouthful Linwood side, beating both Miss Morris and Flint after lengthy battles. Riccarton I kept up its chal-j lenge with a 9-3 win over Avonside ill- John and Stuart
