$20,000 for interest
A three-quarter share in this Poll Hereford bull bred by the Acton stud, of Gisborne, has been purchased by. Australian interests for $20,000. The price is a record for a Hereford bull sold in NewZealand or for export.
The buyers are the Shelmerdine family of Tooborac, Victoria, owners of the Merindoc Hereford and Polled Hereford studs. The bull, Acton Maui, sired by Jolly Jack, one of Action Stud Farm’s top
sires, has arrived at the Merindoc stud. The transaction was completed by the Dominion Stud Stock Company, which was recently formed by the independent livestock companies of New Zealand.
