Central wins golf
Central Canterbury had a narrow one point win over MidSouth Canterbury in a representative golf match at Weedons y esterday. In the foursomes in the morning Central Canterbury won five matches to Mid-South's three, but in the afternoon round MidSouth reversed the result, winning the singles by matches to 71. However, it was not enough to haul back the lead Central Canterbury had established. Results: Foursomes: G. Saunders and R. Pirie beat B. Smyth and C. Taylor. 3 and 2; G. Gunn and I. Carruthers lost to A. Mangin and G. Keen, 1 down; G. Hanna and W. Hana beat J. Donigin and R. Middleton, 3 and 2; I. Bourke and R. Simon beat P. Hayes and G. Hogg. 2 up; R. Howe and J. Langan halved with B. Reid and W. Angus; F. Ol liver and G. Davis lost to K. McManus andi J. Houston. 3 and 2: L. Stewartl and G. Lee halved with N. Anderson and D. Callaghan; M. Begg and G. Pokiona beat K. McLean and P. Simpson, 2 and 1. Singles: Saunders beat Smyth. 3 and 2; Pirie beat Taylor, 4 and 3; Gunn beat Mangin, 7 and 5; Carruthers beat Keen, 3 and 2; G.
