Late sport Bowls treble to Waikato
PA Wanganui The Waikato Gold Star winner, Murray Bryant, completed an historic treble for his province by winning the fours title on the final night of the national indoor bowls tournament in Wanganui last evening. Bryant, aided in no uncertain terms by the lead, Mrs Vai Shaw, Mrs Sadie Middlemiss (No. 2) and ■ Eric Taylor (No. 3», always had
control over Dave Stagg's Hawke’s Bay quartet to win the crown in convincing fashion at 19-12. Although the match was something of a tournament anticlimax after the titanic finals on the previous two days, the 31-year-old Bryant played patient, competent bowls io deprive Stagg's team of its second rinks title.
