No ‘green wave’
Motorists using Christchurch one-way streets today will miss the usual “green wave” of successive traffic-light changes. Signals throughout the system were “jammed” on Thursday by the failure of the oldest part of the control system. Today, Christchurch City Council traffic engineers will switch off the “green wave” while they trace and fix the fault in the 10-year-old controller. They hope to have everything back to normal by late afternoon.
