Son of Albatross for Russley Lodge Stud

Yule Honkin Andy, with a son of the mighty Albatross to come to New Zealand, jhas been secured by Mr Bill Denton for his Russley (Lodge Stud, i Tapu, and i he will I e available to (breeders in the spring. ' The sale was negotiated jby Wrightson Bloodstock, Ltd, during a recent visit to the United States by their standardbred manager, Mr Paul Davies, in company with Mr Denton. The company is also negotiating for the purchase of two other stallions for New Zealand, including a son of
Meadow Skipper for syndicate. Honken Andy, with a record of Imin 58.85. had only six starts last year as a two-year-old and he gained two wins, three seconds and a third. His greatest success, in which he created his record, was in a heat of the 836,000 George M. Patchen Pace at Meadowlands. In that race he sped away from his rivals to win by seven lengths from Good to See, another son of Albatross. The other heat was won in Imin 59.65. Albatross w s a champion at two, three and four years and he won $1,201,470, taking a record of Imin 54.65.
He is the sire of more than 60 2min performers from his first three crops. In 1978 Albatross was third leading money-winning sire of two and three-year-olds, with 85 winners of 295 races and more than S2M in Honkin Andy is the first foal of Henrietta Hanover (Imin 59.85). by Best of All (Imin 56.45) from Helen's Heel (Imin 58.45), by Tar Heel (Imin 575) from Emily Hanover, a daughter of the Peter Volo horse, Sandy Flash. Eleven of the first 15 horses in Honkin Andy’s pedigree have broken 2min.
