T.A.B, OF QUEENSLAND DATA COMMUNICATIONS ANALYST/PROGRAMMERS (Several Positions) Salaries $13,892 to $17,870 During 19/9 the T.A.B. of Queensland will be installing a Burroughs large scale 87800 Multiprocessor system to automate its metropolitan and Gold Coast offices with on-line AWA betting terminals. A second stage of system development will be the extension of cash office and telephone betting automation to the main North Coast areas and then to the remaining regional centres. To achieve these goals it is necessary to develop and implement a communication network that will eventually extend throughout Queensland. Applicants for the positions should have at least two years programming experience in Data Communications. The activities of the Data Communications Group will range from involvement with Burroughs NDL and ALGOL language programming to microprocessor software development. Previous experience in any of these areas would be a distinct advantage. The successful applicants will become members of the project team being formed to automate the T.A.B.'s operations. If necessary, training on Burroughs Large System Concepts and System Software will be provided. Knowledge of the racing industry or T.A.B. operations is not necessary. Previous applicants for these positions are presently being considered and need not re-apply. Superannuation is available after six months satisfactory service and four weeks annual leave applies.
