Plans are well in hand for the construction of an ammonia/urea plant and extensive gas transmission pipelines will be necessary throughout the North Island to meet the demand for natural gas. This position is a new one and reflects the growth and future prospects of the Natural Gas Corporation. Reporting to the Pipelines Operations Manager the incumbent will be responsible for the maintenance of the pipelines, rights of way. meter regulator stations and associated facilities, for the establishement of policies/procedures to prevent pipeline accidents and for meeting emergencies whether natural or man-made. There will be continual liaison with personnel both within the NGC and outside on matters affecting pipeline planning, construction, usage, etc. We are seeking applicants with a B E. (civil/mechanical) and preferably related experience such as pipeline construction. However those with lesser qua.ifications will be considered where experience is considerable.
