Lochiel Boy ready
Special correspondent Palmerston North
Lochiel Boy galloped soundly at Woodville yesterday morning, and he could be an improver in the Suburban Handicap at Awapuni tomorrow.
Fast work was done in the
middle of the course proper, which was rain-sodden. Lochiel Boy drew away from Hurrigan over 1000 m in Imin 7.35, the last 600 in 39.35. This time was as good as any.
Kleio ran the last 1000 m of her work in Imin 9s, the final 600 in 41.25. She is not without a chance in the Doncaster Handicap on Saturday. Telcontar took Imin 21.7 s for 1200 m, the final 600 in 40.75.
Duty Point and Michael’s Prayer required Imin 8s for 1000 m. Duty Point should show improvement in the Doncaster Handicap, though he will benefit from the run, only his second this time up.
