Aust. sprinter for Matamata
Special correspondent Auckland
An interesting newcomer to the stable of D. J. O’Sullivan at Matamata next month will be a former Sydney sprinter, Fag Asa. A three-year-old colt, by Kaoru Star from Admire, Pag Asa was a winner, over 1400 m at Rosehill on Wednesday last week. He was trained in Sydney by N. Begg and, if he copies up to expectations, will be directed by O'Sullivan at the big summer sprints at Ellerslie and Trentham.
Al! told Pag Asa has won three of his 13 races, two this season. He is being imported by Tasman Livestock, of Hamilton, which will syndicate him for breeding next year.
