Insulation for courts
Squash courts insulation valued at $7llO was recommended for the new Pioneer Sports Stadium yesterday by the Christchurch City Council’s policy and finance committee.
The money will come from the cash in lieu of reserves account, paid by subdividers when they do not provide land for reserves. Insulation was not provided at the courts in a bid to save money, but players and neighbours have complained about the noise.
Council architects recommended the most expensive of four types of insulation suggested because it was considered most effective and could not be marked by squash balls.
