Japanese envoy gets new post
PA Wellington ! Japan's Ambassador to New Zealand (Mr L’meo jKagei) will leave next ■ month after two years in the post to become Ambassador to Italy. Mr Kagei. who came to Wellington in June 1977, was expected to stay until at least the end of this year. His appointment to the larger post in Rome is seen as a promotion and recognition of his work in the delicate relationship between Japan and New Zealand. He has also been a popular and effective figure in presenting his country generally.
